Home Manager Program Testimonial

An interview with recent Adorn home managers
- Stephanie and David.

1. Can you please explain to us home managing and how it was helpful for you two?

Home managing was the perfect option for us when we relocated from Boston to Jacksonville. We needed a place to stay temporarily while we looked for a house to buy. It was easy to move in to a place that was entirely furnished, and it gave us a feel for the neighborhood.

2. Did you enjoy your home managing experience?

Home managing was a great experience! We got to stay in a beautiful, fully furnished house at a fraction of the cost.

3. A Realtor calls and says they have a showing at the house you’re managing in 2 hours, what do you do?

We tried to keep the house pretty tidy all of the time, but before a showing we would do a sweep to put away any personal belongings like our coffee pot or toothbrushes. Then we'd flip on the lights to create a welcoming feel.

4. What are a few things you would do to make sure the home was “show ready”?

We'd always keep the furniture in its original location - the designer did an amazing job.

5. Do you have any advice for people thinking about joining a home management program?

Make sure when you're going out for a while that you leave the house in "show-ready" condition so you don't have to run back to fix things up if you get a showing last minute. Make sure when you sign up that you're prepared to leave the house for showings and open houses. And don't sweat the small stuff - it's okay if there are signs that someone lives in the house, like clothes hanging in the closet. You do live there, after all!
